Kamil Tatara (b. 1981, Szczebrzeszyn, Poland) is a contemporary visual artist based in Poznań, Poland. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, awarded in 2006. Tatara works primarily in painting, specializing in oil and acrylic mediums. His practice also extends to small-scale sculptural forms and installation. He is best known for two significant series in his oeuvre: Sentences, initiated in 2012, and TCS, begun in 2015.

Tatara’s work is characterized by a nuanced dialogue between image and language, often merging semi-figurative compositions with textual elements. His Sentences series explores the ephemeral and poetic through fragmented text and painterly abstraction, while the TCS series reflects a conceptual engagement with system design and visual coding. This latter body of work was developed further during his artist residency in Japan in 2018, where he investigated the intersection of structure, memory, and digital aesthetics. Across his practice, Tatara maintains a distinct balance between intuitive expression and conceptual rigor.

Kamil Tatara has exhibited internationally, with notable presentations including UMK (Toruń, 2022), Valid World Hall Gallery (Barcelona, 2021), MAD Gallery (Matsudo, 2018), and CICA Museum (Seoul, 2017). His work has also been shown at 35 Chapel Walk (Sheffield), Centrala (Birmingham), Brickhous (Görlitz), Lokal 27 (Poznań), ArtZona (Kraków), Brick Lane Gallery (London), Glosna (Poznań), and the Centre of Contemporary Art (Toruń). His artistic contributions are part of various public and private collections in Europe and Asia.
